Goi ODI between India and Sri Lanka from Feb 5
Panaji, Feb 1 (UNI) The sale of tickets for the one-day international (ODI) match between India and Sri Lanka to be played here, will begin from Monday February 5 and end on February 10 at all Syndicate Bank Branches in Goa.
The tickets are priced at Rs 2,000, Rs 1,000, Rs 750 and Rs 400.
State Health Minister and BCCI Vice President Mr Dayanand Narvekar, who is the Goa Cricket Assoication (GCA) President told mediapersons here today that East Lower 4,500 tickets of Rs 400 denomination will be sold only in Goa at Syndicate Bank while South Upper 3,260 tickets valued Rs 2,000, North Upper 3,000 tickets of Rs 750 and North Lower 2,000 tickets of Rs 1,000 will be sold through Syndicate Bank for locals as well as outstations.
In all, 12,760 tickets will be sold for the match. There are 13,300 complimentary passes for all four stands, he said.
''We expect a complete sale out of tickets at for the February 14 match'', he said.
He said GCA had sought permission from BCCI to felicitate cricketer Paras Mhambry, a Goan by origin, on the day of the ODI at Nehru stadium Fatorda Margao in Goa. Mhambray played for Mumbai and India teams.
The land acquisation formalities for the proposed International Cricket Stadium at Tivim in North Goa has been completed, Mr Narvekar informed. Director of sports and Youth Affair will take the possession of the land tomorrow and GCA will request the government to hand over the land to GCA as early as possible, he said.
The full project will be completed by 2009 and the playing surface, North and South Stand will be ready by next year. The stadium with its 50,000 capacity will be the second hightest capacity stadium in India.
