Glittering trophy designed for twenty 20 Cricket
Chandigarh, Mar 29 (UNI) The organising committee of the first All India Invitation Twenty- 20 Cricket Championship to be played from April 29 today finalised a glittering trophy here.
According to Chandigarh Twenty 20 Cricket Association I D Kamboj the design of the rolling trophy is inspired by the team spirit. The three hands hold up the ball indicated the team game that can lead only to victory. The trophy will be made in all steel and the replicas for players etc in acrylic.
Pankaj Gupta today gave an attractive presentation of the project.
Among those who attended the presentation were Munish Kapoor, Deepinder Singh, Narinder Bansal and Raman.
Twelve top domestic teams are staking their claim for the top honours in the seven-day thrilling cricket. The matches will be played on league-cum-knockout basis.
The probable teams are ONGC, Air India, Canara Bank, Indian Oil Corporation, Minerva Cricket Academy, All India Associate Banks, Dainik Bhaskar, World Cricket Academy, BPCL, Indian Airlines, Camplast and PSEB.
Players likely to watch in the slang-bang version of the game are Yuvraj Singh, Wasim Jaffer, Harbhajan Singh, VRV Singh, Gautam Gambhir, Munaf Patel, Sunil Joshi, Joginder Sharma, Rajesh Chauhan, Sanjay Mahajan, Pankaj Dharmani, Dinesh Mongia, Reetinder Singh Sodhi, Gagan Khoda, Mohd. Kaif, RP Singh and Zaheer Khan.
The Grand cash prize money is Rs 1,51,000. Other prizes for individual performances worth Rs 200,000.
