Ganguly to join NCA for fitness test for upcoming series

Kolkata, Mar 6 (UNI) Sourav Ganguly today said he would join the National Cricket Academy (NCA) tomorrow for a fitness test for selection of the squad for the upcoming series against South Africa.

Talking to mediapersons here, Ganguly said ''There are no issues as far as the fitness test is concerned. All the seniors and juniors have been called for fitness test.'' When asked to comment on Bengal's teenage wicket-keeper batsman Sreevats Goswami, he said ''I haven't seen much of him. It is better that you leave him alone and let him concentrate on his game.'' Asked if he should be in the Bengal Ranji team, he said that is up for the selectors to decide.

On his possible return to the one-day side Ganguly said the question should be asked to the national selectors and added ''I will do my part by staying fit and scoring runs.'' On the next IPL auction on March 11, the former India team skipper said that it is being looked after by the Red Chillies Entertainment.

Ganguly leaves for NCA in Karnataka tomorrow evening.
