Ganguly still star attraction, to undergo test for sore ankle
Port of Spain, Mar 13 (UNI) Former skipper Sourav Ganguly remains the star attraction for the media and fans here and the focus is to get him fully fit ahead of India's opening Group B game against Bangladesh on March 17.
Ganguly, who played for 11 overs in India's crushing nine-wicket victory over the West Indies in the warm-up game at Trelawny on March 9, has a sore ankle which will be tested by team physio John Gloster at the nets at the University of the West Indies ground.
Though skipper Rahul Dravid said it was not a major worry, it adds to the worry wrinkles for the team management as Sachin Tendulkar also sat out the Trelawny game with a ''niggle''.
The team managment is taking no chances even though there is four days' time in hand.
''By the looks of it, it is not serious. He has been uncomfortable because of this old injury which has flared up again.
But we do not see it as serious,'' Dravid had said.
Ganguly is likely to line up behind Virender Sehwag and Robin Uthappa in the campaign opener with Tendulkar and Dravid following him in that order.
All four teams in the group here -- India, Sri Lanka, Bangadesh and Bermuda -- get down to business at the two practice facilities available in the city after two days of relative inactivity in Montego Bay, where all 16 participating teams had gathered for Sunday's opening ceremony.
