Ganguly reaches Kolkata to hero's welcome
Kolkata, Mar 30 (UNI) In contrast to the homecoming of his other World cup bound Team India colleagues, former skipper Sourav Ganguly today returned home amid loud cheers from his fans and supporters in the wee hours of the morning.
Ganguly, who spent a night at London during his return from the Caribbean, reached here at around 0500 hours in the morning.
Dressed in a leather jacket and navy blue shirt, Ganguly looked a shade tired as he hopped into his car and whisked away for his Behala residence in south Kolkata.
Quite a sizable crowd had, however, gathered at the airport to welcome the Bengal Tiger, who was greeted to the loud cheers of ''Sourav... Sourav''.
Meanwhile, tight security arrangement was made at the VIP gate of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Airport to receive Sourav.
However, after reaching his Behala residence Ganguly obliged the photographers.
Though India performed miserably in the Caribbean losing to Sri Lanka and minnows Bangladesh and failing to qualify for the super eight stage, Ganguly had a fair performance with an above 50 average and a wicket.
