Ganguly fit to play the second ODI
Bhubhaneswar, Jan 22 (UNI) Sourav Ganguly has fully recovered and will play the second match of the Indio-West Indies ODI series at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Wednesday.
Ganguly had a bout of bad cold virus that had made him suspect for the second ODI as he could not take to the field in Nagpur.
''I am fine. There is no problem. I will play,'' Ganguly told UNI on entering Mayfair Lagoon Hotel here.
The team is putting up at the Bhubaneswar, but will play in Cuttack at the Barabati stadium.
Ganguly, who played an majestic knock of 98 to lay the foundation for India's win yesterday, opted to stay away from the field in the second half of the game due to a cough virus. The left-hander made a dream return to the ODIs after a 16-month lay-off and immediately made an star-turn on the side's fluctuating fortunes.
There was some doubt whether the left-hander would be able to play here, but the man himself said he was fit enough to play.
''He had some medication and is now ok,'' Indian team Media Manager Rajan Nair added.
India won the first match of the four-game series by 14 runs.
Both the Indian and West Indian sides arrived here today afternoon. They opted to stay at the hotel today and will come to the ground for practice tomorrow.
