Former captain's proposals tops the agenda of BCCI conclave

Mumbai, Apr 19 (UNI) The annual Ranji Trophy captains and coaches conclave with the BCCI officials will be held here tomorrow morning.

On the top of the agenda will be the suggestion mooted by the seven former team India captains to reduce teams in the Elite group of the Ranji Trophy from 15 to 10. They had voiced their opinion at the special meeting of the board to take stock of the aftermath of the World Cup debacle here on April 6.

The coaches and captains would also be giving their feedback on the improvements needed in the domestic competitions, which would then be put forward at the general body meeting of the board for ratification.

The media release about the decisions taken at the meeting would be handed over to reporters at a press conference which would be held after the selection committee meeting to choose the team for Bangladesh in the evening, Niranjan Shah, secretary of the cricket board, said in a statement here today.
