Film personalities, fans wish India on CEAT Ratings bat
Chennai, Mar 9 (UNI) It was the turn of tyre maker CEAT, which has pioneered the concept of CEAT Cricket Ratings, to obtain the best wishes of cricket fans for Team India here today with the help of a few Tamil film industry personalities, with just four days remaining for the curtain to go up on the World Cup 2007 in West Indies.
CEAT has also got up an 18 feet-long 'CEAT Cricket Rating Billion Man Bat'' on which cricket buffs signed individual messages to the 'Men in Blue', who will begin their quest to win the World Cup for a second time, after their only triumph in the mega event in 1983 in England and narrowly missing it losing the final to Australia in the previous edition in 2003.
Film producer and playback singer S P Saran, son of the legendary crooner and actor S P Balasubramaniam, music director Harris Jayaraj and actor Karan were among the star VIPs who conveyed their best wishes to the team on the 'giant' bat along with the fans.
The beautifully decorated bat is to be taken on a tour across the country to various cities gathering signatures of best wishes from cricket fans. They will later be presented to team India.
Speaking on the occasion, CEAT Ltd Vice Chairman Harsh Goenka said ''we wish to take our passion for the game further with the help of the CEAT Cricket Rating Bat.'' UNI
