England beat Australia by 92 runs

SYDNEY, Feb 2 (Reuters) England ended a run of nine straight losses to Australia by beating the world champions by 92 runs in a tri-series one-day international at the Sydney Cricket Ground today.

Irish-born batsman Ed Joyce made 107 and Ian Bell 51 to help England make an imposing total of 292 for seven from their 50 overs, easily their best score of the series.

Australia, in reply, were bowled out for 200 in the 39th over with Matthew Hayden top scoring with 51 and Andrew Symonds making 39 before retiring hurt.

England's final game is against New Zealand in Brisbane on Tuesday with the winner joining Australia in the best-of-three finals series.
