Duleep Trophy: How Sarfaraz Khan punished Akash Deep for dismissing younger brother Musheer Khan for duck
Duleep Trophy 2024: India B batter Sarfaraz Khan punished India A pacer Akash Deep in most brutal fashion after he dismissed his younger brother Musheer Khan for a six-ball duck on Day 3 of the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024 match at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Bengaluru.
Musheer Khan, who hit a hundred on his Duleep Trophy debut and finished at 181 off 373 balls in the first innings, was dismissed for a six-ball duck by Akash Deep in the second innings.

Soon after his departure India B captain Abhimanyu Easwaran was also dismissed for four, and the team was left reeling at 22/3. Sarfaraz Khan and Rishabh Pant added 10 more runs to the total before the Tea break was taken.

But things changed dramatically right after the play resumed. Sarfaraz Khan left the first delivery of the first over after tea from Akash Deep, and then hammered five fours one after the other to avenge the dismissal of his 19-year-old brother's dismissal.
The first one was played through gully, the second through covers, the through square leg, the fourth one through mid-off, and finished the over with one through point. The five boundaries on the trot, took his individual score to 27 off 12 at the end of the pacer's fifth over.
Safaraz Khan went on to score 46 runs off 36 balls, and his partnership with Pant accounted for 72 off just 56 balls. Sarfaraz's innings consisted of seven fours and a six, and his change in stance also gave confidence to Pant, who ended up scoring 61 off 47.
At the end of Day 3 play, India B had taken a second innings lead of 240. With Washington Sundar unbeaten on six off 23, the team will resume their innings at 150/6 on Day 4 (Sunday).
