Dhoni still in pool of trouble over swimming pool

Ranchi, Jun 19 (UNI) Swasbuckling batsman and wicket keeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni though swam across his lean period to be appointed as the new vice-captain of Indian Cricket Team, a swimming pool sought to be built in his ''dream house'' in the state capital continued to be a cause of concern for him.

Today, a Public Interest Litigation was filed against 'Mahi' as Dhoni popularly called, for his plan to make a swimming pool in his house at Harmu, a posh residential area here.

The plot for making a house had been allotted by the state government as a gift during Arjun Munda-led NDA government.

Rajeev Ranjan lawyer appearing on behalf of the petitioner refused to divulge the names of the four petioners though one was understood to have been one S N L Gupta, former DIG.

According to PIL, it was ''disproportionate consumption'' of water by one and deprivation of many in the locality of Harmu if such swimming pool was allowed to be made.

The pleader further alleged that there was no water supply in Harmu. There were borings in all the houses leading to lowering of water level.

The Central Mines Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI) has given a report in which it has stated that the water level of Harmu has gone down due to boring done by all the houses.

If Dhoni makes swimmimg pool in his residence he will go for deep boring which will cause the water level to go more down.

The resident of Harmu does not get sufficient water from the boring to drink. They have to buy from the market, it said.

Ranjan alleged that the Ranchi Regional Development Authority (RRDA) passed the house map of Dhoni within twenty four hours.

The sanction of permission for making swimming pool at Dhoni's house was illegal, he said.
