Dhoni retains fourth spot in ICC ODI rankings
Dubai, June 12 (UNI) Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who hit an unbeaten 139 against Africa XI in the Afro Asia Cup, retained his fourth place among batsmen in the latest LG ICC ODI cricket rankings issued today.
Dhoni's 139 was the highest-ever ODI score by a number seven batsman. He now trails third-placed Michael Hussey of Australia by 10 rating points.
Australia all-rounder Andrew Symonds returns to top 10 while Sri Lankan veteran Sanath Jayasuriya drops six places to occupy 13th spot.
England's Kevin Pietersen still occupies top batting spot in the ODI list with Australia captain Ricky Ponting in second place.
But, the biggest mover was Shaun Pollock who struck his maiden ton during the Afro Asia Cup. The former South Africa captain achieved his highest career batting spot of 40th, moving up 12 places.
Pollock, who played in the series as a specialist batsman following minor foot surgery, continues to lead the LG ICC Player Rankings for ODI bowlers as the top 14 places in that category remains unchanged.
Pollock also leads team-mate Jacques Kallis in the LG ICC Player Rankings for ODI all-rounders table while West Indies' Chris Gayle is in third place.
