Dhoni loves to sneak through under Sachin's shadow
London, July 18 (UNI) Though his charisma is fast helping him close in on his idol in the glitzy world, Team India's new poster boy Mahenndra Singh Dhoni says he still enjoys walking under the shadow of Sachin Tendulkar.
''When we are walking through airports I love to walk behind Sachin because that is a time when you can really sneak through.
You sense all eyes are on him,'' wicketkeeper-batsman Dhoni pointed out.
The dashing Dhoni says he would like to take a leaf out of how the senior members in the team carry themselves on and off the field.
''All the senior players are superstars and how they manage themselves, how they are on the field or such as inter-acting with people is a lesson in itself,'' he said.
Dhoni has not been around for a long time but has already become ad world's darling.
Admitting the importance of keeping oneself controversy-free even when not playing, he said, ''Frankly speaking I am three years old at international level and my learning started from the very first game.
''You have to learn how to behave outside the cricket ground - that is very important.'' Dhoni, who has a passion for bikes, said ''The day I stop playing cricket everything stops: whether it's the fan following, the endorsements, or anything else. My responsibility is to play good cricket and that is what I am here to do.
The 26-year-old, who made his debut in December 2004 against Pakistan, endorses 17 products, including clothes, footwear, soap, oil and a national bank.
With that kind of popularity, the Jharkhand lad is fast catching up with the kind of adulation only previously reserved for demi-god Tendulkar.
