Dhoni fets Abhinav for winning gold in Beijing Olympics

Bangalore, Aug 11 (UNI) One-day Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni today lauded ace shooter Abhinav Bindra for winning a gold medal for India in the Beijing Olympics.

Describing Bindra's feat, Dhoni said ''Olympic gold is the best thing that could have happened to Indian sports''. It was a moment of pride to all Indians, he added.

''As a sportsman I cannot praise the efforts put up by the shooter any better. It takes lot of grit and continuous hardwork.

I am feeling very happy for Bindra,'' Dhoni said.

The wicket-keeper batsman was in the city to attend a two-day fitness camp for the Sri Lanka-bound ODI team. The five-match series begins in Colombo on August 18.
