Cricket-Dutchman Schiferli injury doubt for World Cup

TRELAWNY, Jamaica, Mar 6 (Reuters) Netherlands bowler Edgar Schiferli's dreams of playing in his second World Cup appeared to be over today after he suffered a hamstring injury.

The 30-year-old injured his left hamstring while warming up for the practice game against India at the Trelawny stadium.

''He is our experienced opening bowler and it doesn't look good,'' team manager Hans Mulder told Reuters.

Schiferli was being taken to the hospital but Mulder felt the injury looked serious enough to end his Cup hopes.

Netherlands, one of the minnows in the tournament, are in group A with champions Australia, South Africa and Scotland.
