Committee will to look into telecast row: BCCI
New Delhi, Mar 6 (UNI) The BCCI today said a committee which has representatives of all stake holders will look into the telecast row involving Prasar Bharati and Nimbus Communications regarding provision of live feed for sports events of ''national importance''.
BCCI president Sharad pawar told reporters after a Board meeting that the committee will submit the report in a few days' time.
''BCCI and its licencee, Nimbus, are not against giving live feed to Doordarshan. A committee will look into the matter and solve the technicalities in the telecast row,'' he said.
''The Board, Nimbus and Prasar Bharati will have representaives in the Committee,'' Mr Pawar added.
Earlier, Nimbus Communications sent a letter to BCCI threatening to pull out of the four-year deal it signed with the Board last year for a whopping 612 million dollar if the telecast row is not sorted out.
The row followed the Government's promulgation of an Ordinance making it mandatory for private broadcasters to share with Prasar Bharati the live feed of sports events of national importance.
The private broadcaster, which holds telecast rights covering matches in India till 2010 March, wanted the BCCI to support them in the row.
BCCI went for a huddle at Mr Pawar's official residence here after receiving the letter.
