Close contests in offing in third round at Kari Speedway
Chennai, July 25(UNI) The third round of the JK Tyre Rotax Max karting challenge 2007, will be held at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore on July 29 with the qualifying round on July 28.
According to a JK Tyres press release here, with very few points separating leaders in both the senior and junior categories and the championship still wide open, the races in this round will be closely contested.
After the first two rounds, Mumbai racer Ameya Walavalkar heads the table in the senior category with 171 points, followed very closely by Chennai lad Aditya Patel who has 170 points. Rayomand Banajee from Pune is in the third position having with a tally of 167 points.
In the Junior Category, Kolhapur lads, Chittesh Mandody and Parth Ghorpade are in the with 85.5 and 83 points, respectively. Chennai's Vishnu Prasad is in third place with 82 points.
The championship aims to provide a platform to tap talent for future to develop racing skills with high speed in the first year of the single seater racing. The karts provided to the young competitors are equipped with the world famous 2 stroke Rotax Max kart engines.
