Brett Lee's fate to be decided next week

Sydney, Feb 22 (UNI) Australia will take a final decision next week on Brett Lee's chances of playing in the forthcoming World Cup and the tearaway pacer will visit a specialist here tomorrow to assess the progress on his injured ankle.

Cricket Australia said in a release today that the National Selection Panel (NSP) and team Medical Staff will decide early next week on the bowler's availability for the showpiece tournament.

''Brett will visit a specialist in Sydney tomorrow to review the progress on his injured left ankle. A medical report will be supplied to the NSP over the weekend, which will assist the NSP in making a decision early next week on Brett's availability for the ICC Cricket World Cup,'' the statement said.

Brett Lee had suffered ligament injury to his left ankle in training while preparing for the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy in New Zealand.
