Border asks BCCI to stay away from talks between CA and PCB

Melbourne, Feb 21 (UNI) Former Australian skipper Allan Border has asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to ''stay away'' from the ongoing negotiations between Cricket Australia and Pakistan Cricket Board over the Kangaroos tour of Pakistan.

Reacting to a BCCI suggestion that Cricket Australia should put aside all apprehensions and tour Pakistan, the former Australian great said the BCCI should stay away from matters which did not concern them.

''They have probably had too much to say in matters even though they do have a fair say financially in the global game,'' he was quoted by Herald Sun as saying.

''It is an issue between Australia and Pakistan to sort out.

There's also independent advice taken, not just Australian security checking it out,'' he added.

Australia's tour of Pakistan has been delayed by a month and shortened from 48 to 30 days after Pakistan and Cricket Australia officials worked out a compromise deal to save the visit.

He said, ''We go to the International Cricket Council and get them to give an assessment as well.'' UNI XC RKM DS1246
