Board doctor's report on Munaf awaited: BCCI secretary
Chennai, Jan 20 (UNI) The recovery and fitness of injured fast bowler Munaf Patel would be known only after the Cricket Board's consultant physician Dr Anand Joshi submits his report, BCCI Secreatary Niranjan Shah.
Talking to newsmen here after the first meeting in the New Year of the BCCI's Technical Committee, chaired by Sunil Gavaskar, Mr Shah said ''Anant Joshi has to give the report in eight to ten days time. We will know after that.'' The lanka seamer was diagnosed for the injury during the ODI series in the recent tour to South Africa. He was reported to have carried the injury to South Africa.
About the recovery of left hand batsman Yuvraj Singh, Mr Shah said, the former has been with the team since the return from South Africa.
''He has already started playing, He has played a maltch in Kolkata. We have to see if he is all right,'' the board official said.
Yuvraj sustained a leg injury during the preparatory camp before the tour to South Africa, when he dashed against a railing while playing kho kho as part of fitness regimen.
Mr Shah said by the end of the ODI series against Sri Lanka at home, following the tour by West Indies, the BCCI was keen on settling the squad for the World Cup in the Caribbeans.
