Bengal Pro T20 League: Schedule, Team Names, Captains, Owners - All You Need to Know

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) announced that the Bengal Pro T20 League will commence its journey on June 11.

The eight-team franchise league, hosted by CAB, will be the first state-based league in India to run both men's and women's T20 tournaments simultaneously.

Sourav Ganguly and Jhulan Goswami - two legends of Bengal cricket were present at the trophy unveiling event on Friday in Kolkata as the team names along with the captains were also finalized on the day.

The inaugural edition of the Bengal Pro T20 League will see 8 Teams fighting in both men and women categories. The eight teams are based on cities and districts of West Bengal, which are- Kolkata, Howrah, Diamond Harbour, Medinipur, Siliguri, Murshidabad, Rarh (a region involving Bardhhaman, Birbhum districts) and Malda.

The Lux Industries & Shyam Steel Consortium owns Kolkata Royal Tigers, while Adamas owns the team Howrah Warriors. Rashmi Group has owned the Medinipur franchise while the others claiming the remaining teams.

Anustup Majumdar, Shahbaz Ahmed, Manoj Tiwary, Mukesh Kumar, Abhimanyu Easwaran are amongst the men team captains while notable India women players Deepti Sharma, Dhara Gujjar, Richa Ghosh will be amongst the women leaders.
