BCCI working committee to meet on Jan 7 to sort out telecast row
Mumbai, Jan 23 (UNI) The Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) will convene an emergency meeting in Delhi on February 7 to discuss and sort out the telecast row between rights holders Nimbus and the public broadcaster Prasar Bharati.
BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah today said that the cricket board has called an emergency working committee meeting on February 7 at Delhi to discuss the developments vis-a-vis the telecast row.''We would ask our sponsors Nimbus to submit to us the difficulties they have been facing,'' he added.
Millions of cricket fans were deprived of viewing the high-scoring first one-dayer between India and the West Indies at Nagpur last Sunday because of the telecast row.
Meanwhile, an interim arrangement has been reached following the Delhi High Court's direction today to Prasar Bharti to show live telecast of the India-Windies series on DD, however deferred by seven minutes from that being shown on rights holders Nimbus.
