BCCI to give cash prizes to India's Olympics medal winners

Mumbai, Aug 23 (UNI) The working committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today announced cash awards to the three athletes who did India proud by winning medals in the Beijing Olympics.

The working committee which met here today decided to award Rs 25 lakhs to shooter Abhinav Bindra who gave India its first individual gold medal at the Olympics.

Grappler Sushil Kumar and boxer Vijendra Singh who also did the country proud by bagging bronze medals will be given Rs 10 lakhs each.
