BCCI okays cricket stadium for Bathinda

Chandigarh, July 17 (UNI) The BCCI has sanctioned an amount of Rs 25 crores for a cricket stadium and an academy at Bathinda.

Disclosing this at a meet-the-press programme at the Press Club here today, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) acting president Sikhbir Singh Badal said he had taken up the stadium issue with the BCCI as he had made a promise to the people of Bathinda.

The BCCI had agreed to his proposal and sanctioned Rs 25 crore for the stadium which would also include a cricket academy to be run by the BCCI, he added.

He assured the Board that the state government would provide all assistance to the BCCI for construction of the stadium.
