BCCI loses patience with Shewag; Tendulkar, Ganguly recalled
New Delhi, Jun 12 (UNI) An extended poor patch finally cost Virender Shewag his place in the 15-member ODI squad while dashing wicket-keeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni was today made the vice-captain for the first time for the upcoming ODI series.
Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar, who were 'rested' for the two-match Test series in Bangladesh, has returned into the ODI team.
Bengal's Ranadeb Bose finally made the cut in the Test squad, Selection Committee Chairman Dilip Vengsarkar announced.
Mumbai's Rohit Sharma has also been selected while Dinesh Mongia, Rajesh Powar and V R V Singh has been dropped.
Rookie Ishant Sharma has alo retained in the Test team while Munaf Patel had to miss out due to injury.
Off-spinner Harbhajhan Singh missed out on a spot in both, the Test and the ODI squad.
