BCCI denies ICC action against Gavaskar

Chennai, Mar 25 (UNI) The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today denied that International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken action against former India captain Sunil Gavaskar and asked him to choose between being on the ICC Cricket Committee and his paid role as a columnist and commentator.

Asked about reports to this effect, BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah and Treasurer N Srinivasan,told newspersons after the Board's working committee meeting here ''the BCCI has not received any report as ICC has not taken any decision in this regard as reported in a section of the media.'' ''The reports in this regard quoting ICC are wrong. No such action has been taken against Mr Gavaskar'', they said.

''Why should we react when the ICC has not taken any action'', Mr Srinivasan said.
