Batting only way to get back to side: Kaif

Kolkata, Jan 20 (UNI) Middle-order bat Mohammed Kaif today said he was working hard and trying to put up tall scores to make a comeback.

Kaif, who is here to play Twenty-20 for Indian Airlines, when asked if he was handed a raw deal, said, ''Its not for me to judge. I want to play more overs. My style required more overs in the middle.'' ''In ODIs we dont get so many balls to play batting six and seven,'' he added.

Asked why was he dropped, he said, ''Never been told why I was dropped. May be you can ask the captain and selectors. I want to score runs, keep it simple.'' On making it to the World Cup squad, ''I am not thinking about that. Now I am concentrating on the Ranji onedayers.'' On his experience in South Africa, ''In the ODIs I was sent at number three. It takes time to settle when order is changed from seven to three.'' On Sourav's comeback, he said, ''He is not the first player to make a comeback. When dropped you push for a place. I am doing that now.'' UNI
