BAN vs NZ: Fans react as Kane Williamson equals Virat Kohli tally with cracking hundred vs Bangladesh
New Zealand captain Kane Williamson on Wednesday hit a fighting hundred to equal Virat Kohli's tally of Test tons, and help New Zealand finish Day 2 at 266/8 in reply to Bangladesh's first innings total of 310 in Sylhet.
New Zealand were two down for 44, and later five down for 175 but Williamson held one end and kept scoring to bring up his 29th Test hundred. Williamson and Kohli now have 29 Test tons each, joint third-highest among active cricketers. Joe Root has 30 Test hundreds and Steve Smith has 32 Test hundreds to his name.

The hundred is Kane Williamson's second in Bangladesh. Overall, he has scored four hundreds against Bangladesh now. The right-hand batting superstar also became only the second New Zealand batter to score hundreds in three consecutive Test hundreds after Andrew Jones who achieved the feat way back in 1991.
Williamson was clean bowled by Taijul Islam for 104 off 205 balls. Here is how fans on X reacted to the masterful innings from Kane Williamson.
The gritty knock consisted of a total of 11 fours. New Zealand are trailing Bangladesh by 44 runs and still have two wickets in hand. Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips chipped in with 41 and 42 runs respectively. Kyle Jamieson and Tim Southee would come out to bat first for New Zealand in the opening session of Day 3 on Thursday.
