Australians feel comfortable to play in India than in Pak: Ponting

Sydney, Sep 18 (UNI) Defending Cricket Australia's decision to go ahead with their tour of India, captain Ricky Ponting said the security situation in India and Pakistan have a vast difference and added that his team feels comfortable to play in India.

''As we all know and has been outlined already, these are very different circumstances between India and Pakistan right at the moment and Cricket Australia has made that very clear,'' Ponting was qouted as saying by The Australian.

''As captain of the side and as a player, right at the moment I am very comfortable to go on the advice of Cricket Australia and the players,'' Ponting added.

The right-handed batsman further said the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the independent security experts have given them a go ahead signal for the India tour.

''Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade have obviously been in very close contact with Cricket Australia over the last few days,'' Ponting said.

However, reacting on Ponting's comments, the Pakistan counterpart alleged Cricket Australia for its 'favouritism' in proceeding with their India tour after refusing to tour Pakistan twice this year, voicing security concerns.
