Australian cricket officials visit Kochi for second ODI
Kochi, July 15 (UNI) As part of inspecting grounds for the forthcoming seven-match India-Australia ODI series beginning September 29, a four-member team of Australian Cricket Board (ACB) officials today visited the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium here, where the second match of the ODI series will be held on October two.
The officials comprising Aussie Team Manager Stephen Bernard, Cricket Manager Geoff Allardice, Security Manager Reginald Dickson and Australian Cricketers Associations CEO Paul Marsh inspected the stadium, including the practice area, dressing room of the visitors and the security arrangements made by the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) for the match.
KCA Honorary Secretary T C Mathew said though the ACB team expressed satisfaction over the facilities in the stadium and security arrangements, they were not satisfied with the ground conditions as the height of the grass was quite high.
They expressed confidence that the KCA would make the requiste arrangements to prepare the ground for the match, Mr Mathew added.
The team was accompanied by BCCI games organising chief Suru Nayak.
