Asia Cup one-day postponed to April 29

Mumbai, May 28 (UNI) The Asia Cup one-day tournament scheduled to be held in Pakistan next year has been delayed by a few days and will now begin from April 29 instead of April 24, 2008.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) informed that the Asia Cup would now be held from April 29 to May 12, next year.

''Earlier the tournament was scheduled from April 24. It has been put off by a few days and will now begin on April 29. It would run till May 12,'' said Shah on his return from Bangkok, Thailand, where he had gone to attend a meeting of the Asian Cricket Council last week.

Asia Cup will feature the four Test playing countries of the region - India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and hosts Pakistan, besides Oman and United Arab Emirates.

This is the first time that Pakistan is playing host to the continent's premier one-day tournament.
