I am absolutely fine, bike accident report is 'fiction' by media: Shoaib Akhtar

Bengaluru, Aug 12: Former Pakistani paceman Shoaib Akhtar today (August 12) said he was "absolutely fine", reacting to a media report which claimed that he was involved in a "bike accident".

According to "The Times of India", Akhtar was injured on the sets of "Mazaak Mazaak Mein" TV show. However, the former bowler on Friday termed the report as "fiction".

Akhtar, who is set to celebrate his 41st birthday tomorrow (August 13), "got injured while riding a bike" on the sets of the TV show, the newspaper quoted sources as saying.

"Guys, take it easy, I am absolutely fine and safe here at my home. No bike accident happened, it was someone in d media writing fiction!!!, Akhtar wrote on his Twitter page.

Former India batsman Virender Sehwag tweeted today reminding fans to wish Akhtar on his birthday. "Kal @shoaib100mph ka Birthday hai. Koi bhoolna nahi wish karna. Twitter par manayenge #ShoaibKiBirthdayParty," he wrote on his Twitter page.

In another tweet, he added, "So my dear friend @shoaib100mph ,how are the preparations for ur birthday tomorrow Hahahaha #ShoaibKiBirthdayParty me Aap sab yahan kal aana."
