ACC's five-year vision document for non-test playing nations
Chennai, June 8 (UNI) Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has prepared a comprehensive five-year strategy for the benefit of the non-test playing countries in the region.
This has appeared in 'Asian Cricket for the Next Five Years and Beyond', the vision document of 'ACC Strategy Plan 2007-2011'.
The plan is to deliver a specific strategy for ACC activities with regard to its members -- the countries, their clubs, institutions, schools and national sports councils to develop and focus on key areas to ensure continued success and to guide the stakeholders, management and operational teams to set priorities, allocate resources and identify.
Besides, the plan would also deliver high quality professional services for the satisfaction of its stakeholders during the next five years.
On the performance area, ACC would make cricket accessible to all people in Asia irrespective of age, increasing participation by ten per cent during the target period.
Other plans include increasing the youth participation by 30 per cent, junior player participation by ten per cent, establishing a coaching structure and increasing the number of coaches by five per cent in the region.
To have a coaching structure in place, ACC also planned to improve their quality into level 2 and level 3 and ensure they remain active.
Apart from this, the plan would also try to have five new ACC umpires selected in the ICC Associate and Affiliate Umpires Panel.
To maximise participation in international competitions including hosting international events and tours, ACC would work to establish a fixed future tournament and tour calendar up to March 2012 with a rolling five-year schedule.
