World Badminton Tourney re-scheduled

Hyderabad, Aug 28 (UNI) Indian Open Grand Prix Badminton Championship scheduled to be held here from the first week of September has been postponed to January 2008.

Pullela Gopichand, one of the organisers, told 'UNI' the five-day tournment would likely to be held here from January 7 next year.

Following requests from Malyasia, China and Indonesia Badminton Federations, the World Badminton Federation had decided to postpone the tournament.

''The players from these countries expressed their concern in the wake of the recent twin bomb blasts here and this led to the decision,'' he said.
