World Badminton meet postponed to Jan due to Hyd blasts

Hyderabad, Aug 28 (UNI) Indian open grand prix badminton championship scheduled to be held here from first week of September has been postponed to January 2008.

Pullela Gopichand, one of the organizer told 'UNI' that with request from Malaysia, China and Indonesia Badminton Federations, the World Badminton Federation has taken a decision to postpone the tournment to January next year.

''The players from these countries expressed their concern in the wake of recent twin bomb blasts in Hyderabad, which led to this decision.'' The exact dates will be announced later, Gopichand said.
