State-level badminton tourney begins from Sep 18

Kolhapur, Sep 16 (UNI) A state level Badminton tournament will begin here at Sasane ground court from September 18.

The state inter-district senior tournament will be played for two days from Tuesday while senior open group for three days from September 20, Nitin Bhange, a committee secretary said in a release.

A team, selected from this competition will play at national competition in Gujarat.

Top players including Sagar Chopade (Mumbai suburb), Mangrish Palekar ( greater Mumbai), Himanshu Thakkar (Mumbai suburb), Amey Joshi, Mayor Ghatnekar (both Thane, S Rathod (Pune) Mayor Tawade (Mumbai suburb) Aditya Pandya (Mumbai), Vinaya Shetty (Pune), Sampada Shetye (Thane) and others will participate in this tournament, a release added.
