Commentary
In a thrilling finish at the Wankhede Stadium, Lucknow Super Giants climbed to the second spot on the points table with a 6-run win over Delhi Capitals.
After electing to bat, KL Rahul played another captain's knock this season as he guided Lucknow to a strong total. Rahul (77) and Deepak Hooda's (52) partnership saw LSG reach 195/3 against the Capitals.
In reply, the chase got off to a shaky start as Lucknow reduced DC to 13/2 in three overs. The lethal opening pair of Prithvi Shaw (5) and David Warner (3) failed to get going.
But Mitchell Marsh and Rishabh Pant brought Delhi right back into the game with a blistering third wicket partnership scoring 60 off just 25. Delhi recovered from the early blows to score 66/2 in the powerplay.
Pant's 30-ball 44 and Rovman Powell's 35 off 21 kept Delhi on course. But Mohsin Khan kept Lucknow in the game, removing both Pant and Powell. Mohsin's four-wicket haul put the brakes on DC's chase.
Needing 21 off the final over, Kuldeep Yadav welcomed Marcus Stoinis with a maximum. Stoinis held onto his nerves as he denied Delhi a win.
Earlier, after being invited to bat, Lucknow skipper Rahul once again anchored the innings with a classy 77 off 51. Rahul and Deepak Hooda stitched together a strong second-wicket partnership of 95 off 61.

Mohsin Khan bagged up four wickets and adjudged as the Player of the Match for his explosive performance. Cheers!

Delhi Capitals will look to avenge the reverse fixture loss when they face a confident Lucknow Super Giants side in the first of today's double-header at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Earlier in the season, LSG rode on Quinton de Kock's 80 to seal a 6-wicket win after restricting DC to 149/7 thanks to the tight bowling of spin twins Krishnappa Gowtham and Ravi Bishnoi.
Now, both sides head into the match on the back of wins with a view to continue an unbeaten run as KL Rahul's LSG and Rishabh Pant-led DC aim for play-off spots.
While LSG sit in the third position with 12 points after 6 wins in 9 matches, DC occupy the sixth spot with 8 points after 4 wins in 8 matches. A win for LSG will push them further ahead in the race for a top four spot and also put DC in a spot of bother with just few matches left in the league stage.
As for playing 11s, both teams may alter if they find it really necessary (injury or tactical) or else they may stick to the winning combination from their last match.
At the Wankhede, teams chasing have won 6 times, while the teams batting first have won 5 times. Despite the record, captains may be tempted to bat first as it's a noon game.
